Honoria Ravena Page 11

The room came into sharp focus. The sound of their beating hearts clashed, almost drowning out the faint thump of rap music coming from below. As I ran my hands down Laedan’s arms, I could feel every hair. His rough palms on my shoulders almost chafed my skin. I shivered and sank my fangs deep into his throat.

He gasped and his cock hardened in a rush. I rubbed myself against the hard flesh contained by his slacks and moaned into his throat as my vagina clenched. One of his hands tangled in my hair while the other slid up my shirt to cup my right breast.

Zarek wrapped his arms around me. One hand slipped into my panties while the other toyed with the nipple of the other breast. He pinched it while he scissored my clit between his fingers.

Laedan groaned, and his dick jerked as I took a long draw of blood. I ground myself against Zarek’s fingers and Laedan’s thick erection. Then Zarek disappeared, but suddenly Laedan and I were on the big bed.

I broke from Laedan’s throat. “What are you doing?”

“Getting back at you for that slap.” Zarek’s hand came down over my ass, and I yelped. “Keep feeding.”

I heard a rendering of fabric and cool air brushed my backside. My memory came rushing back to me, but it was too late. I was already in sensory overload. I needed someone to fill me. To ride me hard and fast.

Laedan pulled my tank top over my head. “God, these tits are nice.” He drew one into his mouth and bit gently.

I gasped. At the same time, Zarek thrust his tongue into my cunt.

“You’re so wet you don’t even need foreplay,” he murmured against my pussy. “I’ll be damned if I’m going to waste my time on it then.”

Laedan started sucking my other nipple while he led my hand into his pants. I moaned as he gripped the tight bud in his teeth and tugged. I wrapped my palm around his ferocious hard-on. He wasn’t as thick as Zarek, but he was longer. I stroked him, running my fingers through the pre-cum gathering at the little slit of his cock.

“God, Zarek, what are you waiting for? Fuck me! Fuck me hard.”

I squeezed Laedan and he gasped, bucking against my hand. “Oh, Zarek, you’ve got a gift from the gods here.”

Something round and warm brushed my vagina. I jerked, pulling my nipple from Laedan’s mouth with a wet pop.

I glanced behind me. Zarek aimed his cock toward my tight opening. I hadn’t noticed him take his clothes off, but I’d been occupied.

  “Wait,” I managed to whimper.

“Regan, we’re really past stopping here,” Zarek said through gritted teeth.

I glanced behind me and smiled. “I didn’t say stop, I said wait.”

I gripped Laedan under the armpits and using my new strength, I started to slide him across the bed ahead of me. He seemed to get the idea and used his feet to propel himself so I was level with his groin.

“Yay, I get a blow job.”

I grinned and tugged the slacks down to free his erection as Zarek started to shove his thick length into my cunt.

I sank my fangs into Laedan’s thigh. His cock jerked against my cheek, leaving a bead of pre-cum on it. He was so close, it wouldn’t take much. I drew back and licked the wounds tenderly.

Zarek sank in another inch. It wasn’t enough. “Harder, Zarek. You’re driving me crazy.” I whimpered.

He chuckled darkly and shoved with all he had. The movement sent me forward; my breasts rubbed against the sheets. I screamed and tossed my head back. He drove in and out of me in hard, deep lunges that left me gasping for breath.

I stared down at the cock in front of me. I swooped down on it while shoving myself against Zarek’s rod. I swirled my tongue around the head of Laedan’s cock before I took him all way to the back of my throat. I sucked him hard, caving my cheeks while I rose up and down on his shaft.

Zarek’s thrusts got faster, and I cried out around Laedan’s penis.

Laedan moaned and threaded his hand in my hair, plunging into my mouth. The muscles in my pussy spasmed. Zarek cried out and lost his rhythm, his control.

Laedan jerked in my mouth, and his hands tightened in my hair as he came. “Swallow it,” he shouted hoarsely.

I did. I wanted every last drop.

Zarek’s cock lurched. I broke away from Laedan’s penis as sparks danced through my vision. I screamed as I came, driving myself back on Zarek’s shaft. He roared as he orgasmed, pumping his hot seed into me.

We both crashed on top of Laedan’s legs. He grunted at the impact but didn’t complain.

We all lay there breathing heavily for a long time before Zarek rolled us off Laedan, but I cuddled into his side, Zarek at my back. I yawned hard enough that my jaw popped. Laedan grabbed the blanket from the footboard and tossed it over us.

“So much for not sharing,” Laedan murmured, wrapping a leg around mine.

A growl filled my ears, and Zarek kicked him. “Don’t push me. Just because I lost it in the heat of the moment doesn’t mean I can’t kill you now.”

  Laedan chuckled but said nothing.

I knew I should be pissed about something, but at the moment, I couldn’t remember and didn’t want to. I was content to bask in the afterglow of really good sex and get some much-needed sleep.

  Chapter Eleven

Mom laughed as Daddy twirled her around. Her laughter was like wind chimes in a summer breeze.

“There is nothing more beautiful than you, Giselle.”

He was right. I’d never met a woman prettier than Mom. Strawberry blonde curls nearly brushed the floor as Daddy dipped her. Her eyes were the clear blue color of the Caribbean Sea. She was delicate and well-mannered, the perfect southern belle.

“Well, except maybe our babies.” They both glanced toward the stairs where we thought we were hidden. They always knew when we were up to something.

Mom walked to the foot of the stairs. “You two are supposed to be in bed.”

Jason stepped around the wall so he was visible. “Well, how are we supposed to sleep with all the laughter and music?”

Dad started for the kitchen, yelling as he went. “You’re not. Come down and I’ll make hot chocolate before you go to bed.”

“Alec, they’ll never go to bed if you give them sugar.”

“Don’t worry, you can handle it.”

Mom set her hands on her hips. “I can handle it? I don’t think so. The last person to give them sugar is the one who gets to put their butts in bed.”

Jason grabbed my hand and tugged me down the stairs. “Mom, we’re almost adults. We can handle a little sugar. Besides, it’s winter. Isn’t that the time for cocoa by the fireplace?”

Mom rolled her eyes, but moved so we could go around her. “Adults? Teenagers maybe, but not adults.” She ran her hands through my hair. “I’m not ready for my babies to be adults.”

I’d opened my mouth to respond when the door burst open. Our parents were in front of us so quickly I hadn’t seen them move. A young man stepped through the door, flanked by two large men.

My father fell into a fighting stance, the kind my brother was learning in karate. The boy took a step toward Dad, and a shiver went down my spine. His face was completely devoid of compassion. The cruelest expression I’d ever seen. In the light he appeared to be fourteen, but his eyes were ancient, black wells of hatred. “Well, Alec, I’m glad to have found you.”

  Daddy’s back tensed. “Leave, Navarro.”

“Is that any way to speak to your master?”

  “I broke from you.”

“Yes.” His gaze flicked to my mother. “And you took my whore with you. She’s a Gift, I want her back.”

  “I’m not a Gift anymore, asshole. I’m a vampire.”

I stared at my mother. She’d never used a curse word as far as I could remember, and she chastised Dad when he used them.

Navarro glanced over his shoulder. “Seer, come here.”

A figure in a white hooded robe came through the door, escorted by another giant male. Her delicate hands lifted the hood from her face.
r />   I met her eyes and gasped. Her irises were a swirling, metallic violet.

“Are these the ones from your vision, Oracle?” Navarro demanded.

“I could not tell you. You know I cannot see them.” Her voice was vaguely mocking.

He slapped her, and if the other vampire hadn’t supported her, she would have fallen. “I know that’s not true. Maybe you can’t see the way we do, but you have your own special sense. You can tell me. Are these the ones from your vision?”

Her lip curled in disgust. “Fine, I refuse to tell you. Does that make you happy?”

“What the fuck is going on, Navarro?” my father demanded.

“The Oracle had a vision that one of my enemies will kill me. I’ve been slaughtering them since.”

“Danae, how could you tell him that?”

Her strange eyes flickered to my father. “I am sorry, Alec. He was present when the vision struck me. I could not prevent him from hearing. For my indiscretion, you will die.” A tear trailed down her cheek. “I am so sorry.”

She fixed Navarro with a withering stare that made me question whether or not she was blind. “But your enemy will live on, kill you, and save him.”

Navarro snarled at his guards. “Kill them.”

His gaze flicked to Jason and me, where we stood behind our parents. “Perhaps I’ll take the children. The wretched offspring of a vampire and a Gift… They’ll be quite powerful.”

My father’s voice was icy. I’d never heard him be so cold. “Sorry, Navarro, you can’t have my kids.”

One of the swords mounted on our wall flew into his outstretched hand. “Giselle, get the children out.”

She grabbed our wrists and hauled us into the kitchen, toward the back door. “Jason, take your sister and run as far as you can. I can’t go with you, I’ve got to help your father.”

Jason nodded sharply, but his hand trembled as he gripped my arm. He was so pale. I couldn’t stop shaking. Who were these men? Could my parents fight them off?

Mom unlocked the drawer we weren’t allowed in and pulled out two wicked, curved knives before starting back toward the living room. I’d never seen Mom wield a weapon.

Jason tugged my arm, trying to get me through the door. I couldn’t leave my parents. I grabbed the doorframe so he couldn’t haul me away. Tears coursed down my cheeks.

“Regan, damn it, come on.” He tried to pry my fingers off the doorframe.

I heard the ring of metal meeting metal. My father danced into view through the doorway, fighting one of the hulking men. The man slammed his sword into Dad’s, and it went flying. My mother screamed as the guy’s sword sunk into my father’s chest. The man jerked it out and swung at Daddy’s neck.

My scream pierced the silence of the room. Tears rolled down my cheeks as my heart hammered. I sat up and scrubbed my face with my hands. Something caressed my back, and I screamed again, jumping out of the bed.

I ran halfway across the room before I realized where I was. I turned back to face the two puzzled men on the bed. For a second, I was struck by how yummy they looked lying tangled in the blankets. Then the panic returned. I couldn’t breathe. I wrapped my hands around my middle and tried not vomit.

The dream rushed at me. Except it wasn’t a dream. Jason had pulled me away before I’d seen what happened next. My brother had probably saved my sanity, but it had played out in my mind a thousand times, recalling my mother’s scream and the blood from Daddy’s chest.

Laedan pressed on one of his ears and glowered at me. “Wow, you’ve got some lungs on you. What’s the problem?”

I rubbed my arms as I tried to form words. Goose bumps had popped up on my arms, even though I wasn’t physically cold. Inside I was chilled to the marrow.

Zarek sat up with a frown. “Laedan, something is really wrong.” He climbed out of bed and took a step toward me.

I held up my hand, and he paused for a second before closing the distance between us. I tried to push him away, but I was shaking so badly my muscles wouldn’t obey. I didn’t want a vampire anywhere near me right now.

He scooped me up and carried me back to the bed. He sat me down and wiped the tears off my face.

Laedan sat up and rubbed my shoulders. “Hey, what’s wrong? Make words, Regan.”

My shaking halted. Navarro. My brother had mentioned his name when I’d come to break him out of his cell. I wonder if he recognized it.

“Regan?” Zarek shook me and I looked up at him. His forehead scrunched as he frowned at me. His eyes were filled with worry. They were the same shocking shade of Danae’s eyes. Were they family? Why was she with Navarro?

I cupped his cheek in my palm and ran my thumb over his cheekbone. The frown grew deeper. He turned his face into my hand and kissed my palm.

  “Danae.”

His eyes grew wide, and he gripped my hand. “You’ve seen my sister? Do you know where she is?”

  “With Navarro.”

  “You don’t have a location?”

“No. I’m sorry. What happened to her?”

“She was kidnapped by Dorian because of her precognitive abilities. I’ve never been able to get her back.”

Laedan tucked my hair behind my ear. “Navarro, the guy on top of the long list of people who want to kill you? What about him?”

Pushing Zarek to one side, I got out of bed. “I wonder if he knows it’s the same boy. It’s too much of coincidence not to be the same boy.”

“I get the feeling we aren’t going to get an answer out of her, boss.”

I opened Zarek’s closet and reached to the very back where I’d discovered the long-sleeved black button-down shirt. I put it on and started buttoning it. Zarek and Laedan pulled on their pants.

I was out the door before I realized I didn’t know where my brother’s cell was. I stopped and waited for them. Counting to ten, I tried to get control of my renewed anger. That jerk was keeping my brother in a cell because he’d objected to me becoming a vampire. I was going to smash his smarmy face in if I didn’t get a hold of myself.

I sensed Zarek when he came up behind me. I didn’t have to hear him to know he was there. I spun around and slammed my fist into his jaw.

I stood there, shocked, as he smashed into the wall and fell to the ground. I hadn’t even expected to be able to hit him. It seemed there were perks to being a vampire.

Laedan took a step toward me, and I kicked at his shin. He managed to dance away, but then, I wasn’t trying very hard.

“Don’t fuck with me, wolfie. I’m pissed enough to beat both your asses. You’ve got my brother locked up in some dank, dark cell for objecting to something he had every right to object to.”

I stomped the floor. I probably looked like an irate two-year-old, but it kept me from kicking Zarek. “I didn’t want to be a vampire, and believe me, we’re going to have a lengthy conversation about all of this after I talk to Jason and put him in a room.” I tapped my foot on the floor. “Well, get up, Zarek. I don’t know where my brother’s cell is from your room.”

His eyes flashed, and he was on his feet before I could blink. He grabbed my shirt and pressed me into the wall. His arms were shaking like he was trying to keep from slamming me against it.

“Be very careful, Regan. I’m no gentleman. If you choose to hit me, I might just hit you back.”

He lifted me off the floor by my shirt. “And maybe, just maybe, I didn’t want to witness your slow, agonizing death. I won’t make that mistake again. I’ll let those assassins gut your ass.”

He let go of me so fast my legs buckled, then turned and started down the hall. He glanced back over his shoulder. “Well, get up, Regan. You don’t know where your brother’s cell is.”

I used the wall as leverage as I rose. Laedan smiled at me mockingly and gestured for me to go ahead of him.

He actually cared what happened to me? For some reason the thought warmed me. I couldn’t quite keep the small smile off my face. I almost had to ru
n to keep up with him. He was pissed. I’d actually managed to hurt his feelings. But then, I wasn’t happy with him either. No matter what his reason, he’d still made me a vampire.

We went down a flight of stairs in uncomfortable silence. Zarek opened the door at the bottom, and we entered the hallway that led to his office across from the door that went to my brother’s cell.

I pushed Zarek aside and almost fell down the stairs in my haste. He grabbed my arm and steadied me. “Careful, grace.”

I was pleasantly surprised he’d bothered to catch me. If he claimed he’d let assassins have me, then why save me from a tumble? I stuck my tongue out at him playfully and took off down the steps. I reached the bottom. My brother looked up from his pacing and rushed to the bars. They were bent, as if he’d been trying to pull them apart. Unfortunately for him, they were extra thick and probably reinforced with something vampire-resistant.

I ran to the bars and put my hands on top of my brothers’. His eyes were wild and frightened. They had dark circles under them, like he hadn’t fed or slept in a long time. His mouth was set in a grim line.

“Jeez, Regan, I tried to stop them. Are you all right?”

I had to think about that. I’d been turned into something I abhorred. I’d slept with two men who were my enemies. I was so confused I wasn’t even sure they were enemies anymore. Laedan seemed fond of me, and Zarek even more so. Zarek…

I finally shook my head. “I have no earthly idea.”

Jason smiled and cupped my cheek. It wasn’t a very pleasant smile, more like he was trying not to cry. “We’re so screwed.”

I laughed and it turned into a sob. “You don’t even know.”

I spun around as Laedan and Zarek stepped into the little chamber. He was glaring at Laedan, his fists clenched at his side. Laedan’s lips were pulled back in a snarl, his powerful arms crossed over his chest, apparently to keep him from beating the crap out of someone.

“They were fighting about you. I know more about your sex life than I ever cared to. Damned vampire ears. Couldn’t you have put on more clothes? While Zarek’s shirt keeps you decently covered, I’m used to seeing more on you.”
